Arriving at Big Trout we had beatiful weather with a smooth, warm breeze and already the first night Kjetil caugh two nice fish above 2kg where the river starts at the lake. Later on the same evening he caught a nice fish of 3.5 kgs a bit further down the stream. On the other side of the river Edvard and I had some success, Edvard the most clever with 4 fish; all between 2.4 – 3 kgs.
The third day Edvard caught the biggest trout this week. We were all tired after a long day and he was supposed to only have one more cast. He let his fly go further down the V than he had ever done and suddenly a giant went into the air. Edvard, being a Kola veteran, did everything right, rod high as he ran for shore and made the run of his life on the rocks downstream, where he fought the fish for another 15 minutes. 5.2 kilos!! What a new personal record on dry fly!

In all we caught 30 fish in Big Trout, which is not bad as we had no proper hatching of either mayflies or caddis. Saami Kitchen was a bit dissapointing this time as hardly anything happened at the top streches and pools. No hatching and hardly any fish. We had some action of smaller fish between 1 and 2 kiloes at the lower stretches, but in all we only caught 13 fish above 1 kg at Saami. We did not have the chance to go downstream, due to hard winds.
All the guys caught fish above 2 kg.
