Trout Fishing Report Week 26A – 2014
Mystic Litza and Dream Kharlovka
The only beautiful day, Mystic Camp.
Dressed for the weather
The Dream Kharlovka Camp in high water conditions
The weather on Saturday when the group arrived was very nice. The first evening at Mystic we saw a few fish rising and one fish above 1 kg was caught. Quite a few small caddis were seen in the air. Sunday was a beautiful day and we caught a few fish above 1 kg and a couple of big ones were lost at the neck of the lake. The temperature in the river was 8C. On Monday the wind increased and made casting more and more difficult. A couple of fish were caught, and again a big one lost at the neck of the lake. Tuesday the wind was very strong and when we moved it was decided to use Dream Kharlovka instead of Oset because of the camping conditions. The temperature in Kharlovka was about 8C when we arrived.
One of the few nice trout
The rest of the week we had rain, sleet and strong winds. But even in these conditions we noticed small caddis and midges hatching. On two occations we found rising fish, but only one group within casting distance. The total number of fish above 1 kg this week was 14. The last morning we woke up to snow on the tents and a water temp of only 6C.
Our chef/guide Igor did a great job of cooking good meals when we wanted them and keeping the lavvo warm. The group was very positive and kept a good spirit. Thanks to all of them. Pål Krogvold group leader.
