Trout Fishing Report 9A – 2016

Dream Kharlovka and First Knee Litza Back from another fantastic trip on the Russian tundra. We were a seasoned team with 145 years of fly fishing experience and a total of 31 week’s experience from the Russian tundra. We thought we had experienced it all and that the combination of thorough planning and our strong tundra experience should set us up with success. But Tundra is still Tundra and we experienced conditions we never had experienced before, and we saw things we...

Trout Fishing Report 5B – 2016

We’re back in Norway after 1 week on the tundra among large trout, wolves and wolverines. Here is a short version: Saturday 23 of July we were picked up by bus at the hotel in Murmansk. After a 3 hour drive into the “middle of no-where” we finally stood, 36 hours after we started in Norway, in front of a Russian MI-8 helicopter. The real trip could start. First stop was Rynda. All fishing equipment was disinfected prior to takeoff to the tundra. Normally I...

Trout Fishing Report 6B – 2016

A great experience and an excellent adventure once again when visiting the Mekka of brown trout fly fishing. Group 6B stayed at Running Litza and Second Knee Litza during 30th – 7th of August. Our group had very shallow water level and difficult fishing but even then we managed to catch a few. In total for a group of three guys we caught 39 trouts larger than 1 kg. The firsttimer Glenn caught the biggest one on 2,9 kg. I want to thank Justin for great info regarding camps,...

2016 ASR Salmon Season Summary

This was matched by excellent fishing on the June weeks, evidenced by the strong record of big fish both hooked and landed during this period. In fact, the Rynda...

Trout Fishing Report 3A – 2016

3A Bush Wulff The group consisted of Christoph Zimmerman, Gunter Foster, Reinhold Geberd, Stefan Jansen, Carsten Dogs and myself Christopher Rownes (Group Leader). We landed in Bush in very warm weather with the river low and at a very high temparature. We set up camp quick and set out in 3 groups. Despite the very good weather we saw no hatch and very few fish rising. We quickly realised that BIG floating flies was the way to go. These flies fished dead drift brought up...
