Unfortunately we received short notice that the military authorities would conduct operations within the restricted zone of the Northern Kola Peninsula during the two week period of 16th – 30th June 2018. Kharlovka week 24 ending 15th of june 2018

Conditions last week went from good to great. Air temps were in the high single digits over the opening weekend followed by a brief cold snap with some snow flurries early week before the temps shot back up to 15+C for the final two days of the week. Water temps improved slowly from 4.9C to 7.0C while the levels dropped slowly over the week from 38cm down to 30cm on the home pool scale. Kharlovka web report for the week 23 ending Friday 8 June Cool conditions and silver springers all round! Wind – rain – sleet and snow with air temps in the low single digits couldn’t hold back our latest group of mostly ASR veterans who managed to release 60 good salmon during the week. Here we go again! Following last weeks record of 331 salmon – 13 happy new guests just released another all time record total of 345 salmon on the mighty Kharlovka that included 26 great fish over 20 pounds – and 1 over 30.. – plus another 30 pounder for Volodya – the Home Pool Specialist.. New record on the mighty Kharlovka with 337 salmon for 13 rods! Although things started off a bit slow with only 4 salmon recorded in the book on the first day, everything quickly came just right for this returning group of good friends who went on to enjoy some fantastic fishing that won’t soon be forgotten. Summer like conditions finally arrived to the far northern tundra along with plenty of sun and warming rivers last week that went from 7.6C up to 13C – while water levels dropped away nicely at about 6cm/day to finish the week at 76cm on the home pool scale.
