Kharlovka week 29 ending 21st of July 2017
Here we go again!
Following last weeks record of 331 salmon – 13 happy new guests just released another all time record total of 345 salmon on the mighty Kharlovka that included 26 great fish over 20 pounds – and 1 over 30.. – plus another 30 pounder for Volodya – the Home Pool Specialist..
Despite all the bright sun with warm air temperatures to 25+C – and with water temps. soaring up to 17.7C – the rivers were still at prime levels – slowly dropping away from 40cm down to 27cm on the Home pool scale – which was just enough to hold all the salmon back for another week from running the Kharlovka Falls.
The big boss Volodya who has been on camp controlling operations across the ASR for the last 2.5 months – finally had an opportunity to make his first pass all season down the Home pool using his own small black tube. 15 minutes later – Boy started howling as Volodya released this beautiful 30 pound silver hen back on her way..
Special thanks to big Jim who was joining us for the first time – and for releasing 34 salmon including several over 20..
Always nice to see our friend Mark back every summer!
Well done to team Austria with 47 nice salmon this season for Manfred and Christian!
Also a pleasure to meet Tony and Charles that travelled all the way from Australia. Together with the help of Big Alex this team managed to release 40 salmon together – including the fish of the week at 31 pounds for Tony! This was their first salmon fishing trip ever! And it certainly won’t be their last..
Special thanks for our Russia friends – and well done with the P.B’s – for Andrey with this solid 24 pounder – and Sergey with this 23 pounder – and Max who had 41 salmon including a couple over 20 pounds..
And Congrats to Howard who wisely decided to move his week back to middle July this season – and for releasing 32 nice salmon on the week.
Honourable mention also goes out to Nabe from Japan who is no longer a salmon fishing novice after releasing 16 good salmon including his new P.B. 26 pounder. Kanpai!
Congrats to the whole team for the record – memorable week!
