Here we go again! Following last weeks record of 331 salmon – 13 happy new guests just released another all time record total of 345 salmon on the mighty Kharlovka that included 26 great fish over 20 pounds – and 1 over 30.. – plus another 30 pounder for Volodya – the Home Pool Specialist.. New record on the mighty Kharlovka with 337 salmon for 13 rods! Although things started off a bit slow with only 4 salmon recorded in the book on the first day, everything quickly came just right for this returning group of good friends who went on to enjoy some fantastic fishing that won’t soon be forgotten. Summer like conditions finally arrived to the far northern tundra along with plenty of sun and warming rivers last week that went from 7.6C up to 13C – while water levels dropped away nicely at about 6cm/day to finish the week at 76cm on the home pool scale. Looking back we can say that the cold conditions through the end of May has delayed the big spring thaw on the north coast by about 2-3 weeks this season.
